COVID-19 is highly contagious and can have serious effects on people of all ages. While 87% of COVID-19 deaths are people over 65 years old, the virus can have serious effects for people under 65 and even in children. If left unchecked the virus can lead to infections or lung scarring. The long-term effects of COVID-19 are still unknown. Please watch for symptoms and do not hesitate to contact your doctor.

Remember the symptoms include:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Nasal congestion or runny nose

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Diarrhea

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Stomachache

  • Tiredness

  • Headache

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Poor appetite or poor feeding, especially in babies under 1 year

  • Inability to move head normally, in toddlers and babies under 1 year

Cases are on a downward trend and the vaccine is being administered slowly, but there are still cases in our area. Please stay vigilant and stay safe. Most people make a full recovery and are perfectly fine. But just to be certain everyone in our Randolph family is safe, please keep distance, mask in public, and call your doctor if you see some signs of ongoing COVID-19 in children that can lead to infection.
