NOTICE FOR BIDS
Sealed bids, in accordance with Randolph Township’s plans and specifications prepared by K.B.West Design, LLC (Construction Manager) for the construction of Administration Addition for Randolph Township Fire Department, located at 1639 OH-44, Atwater, Ohio, will be received at the office of the Fiscal Officer, Randolph Township Administration Building at 3636 Waterloo Road, PO Box 184, Randolph, OH 44265-0184, until 5:00 P.M., local time, on December 12, and they will be Publicly opened and read aloud at 7:00 P.M. on the 12th day of December, 2019 at the Randolph Township Administration Building 1639 OH-44 Atwater, Ohio 44201. Bid envelopes shall be marked “Addition Randolph Township Fire Department Station”.
On and after November, 18, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, plans and specifications are on file for review and electronic copies of plans and specifications may be obtained from the K.B.West Design, LLC offices located at 2223 Fulton Road N.W. Suite 107, Canton Ohio 44709
Contractor(s) shall be responsible for obtaining all permits.
A non-refundable deposit of $30 will be required in advance for electronic set of plans and specifications (available on thumb drive in PDF format). Plans and specifications shall be picked up from K.B.West Design, LLC offices located at 2223 Fulton Road N.W. Suite 107, Canton Ohio 44709 when possible. However, where not possible, upon receipt of $40 non-refundable deposit, plus upon receipt of prepaid mailing costs, of $9.00 plans and bidding documents will be forwarded prepaid via FedEx Ground to address requested. The Township and K.B.West Design, LLC will not be responsible if bidding documents so mailed are received too late for filing a timely bid. Checks for plans and specifications shall be made payable to K.B.West Design, LLC. For mailed requests, please email kevin@kbwestdesign.com for online invoicing and credit card payments.
Printed full size hardcopies available for $70.80 per set. Please contact kevin@kbwestdesign.com via email in advanced to order hardcopies. Prints can be picked up at the K.B.West Office in Canton or sent to your office via FedEx Ground deliver (shipping and handling apply).
Each bid shall be in conformity with the Revised Code of Ohio and shall contain the names of every person and company interested therein.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a proper certificate by any corporation not chartered in Ohio, testifying that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the form of 1) a certified check, cashier’s check or letter of credit, equal to 10% of the bid; or 2) a bid guaranty bond for the full amount of the bid; both forms of guaranty as provided in Chapter 153 of the Ohio Revised Code and in the Project Specifications. The amount of the Bid for said guaranty purposes shall include all additive and deductible alternates. All bid guaranties shall be conditioned that if the bid is accepted within sixty (60)
days of the bid opening, a contract shall be executed and secured by an approved Performance Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract; in event of default said bond or check and the amount represented thereby shall be forfeited to the Randolph Township Board of Trustees as security.
Bidders shall comply with the Affirmative Action – Equal Employment Opportunity Requirements set forth in the specifications. A bidder/contractor will be deemed committed to the goal of such bid conditions by submitting a properly signed bid. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, gender, sexual preference, handicap, or national origin. Construction work shall be subject to the prevailing wage rates established by the Ohio Department of Industrial Relations (see specifications for details).
Terms of payment shall be as provided in Chapter 153 of the Ohio Revised Code.
Work shall not begin prior to authorization in writing by the Board of Randolph Township Trustees and total project be completed NO LATER THAN September 1, 2020.
The Randolph Township Trustees reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, and to accept any bid or combination of bids which is deemed most favorable to the township at the time and under the conditions stipulated. The Board further declare that they will award the contract for this project to the lowest and best bid, which may not necessarily be the lowest bid. No single factor will control the Board’s decision to award, and the Board reserves the right to exercise its full discretion.
