Public Health Advisory System Update. Portage County remains RED status.

There are Seven indicators with the Public Health Advisory System. Portage County is meeting the following THREE/SEVEN Indicators:

  • Indicator One- New Cases per Capita (High Incidence at 224/100k population)

  • Indicator Three-Non Congregate Cases

  • Indicator Five-Outpatient Visits

Residents should follow the recommended guidelines for Risk Level 3 to reduce the spread of COVID-19: (Same as the previous weeks in the RED status)

  • Conduct a daily health/symptom self-evaluation.

  • Stay at home if symptomatic.

  • Maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet from non-household members.

  • Wear a face covering/mask.

  • Consider necessary travel only.

  • Follow good hygiene standards, including:

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  • Use hand sanitizer frequently.

  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Clean all high-touch surfaces often.

  • Decrease in-person interactions with others.

  • Limit attending gatherings of any number.

  • Seek medical care as needed, but limit or avoid unnecessary visits to hospitals, nursing homes, and residential care facilities to see others as much as possible.

As a reminder, typical COVID-19 signs and symptoms are the following:

Have one or both of the following:

Cough

Shortness of breath

And/or, have at least two of the following:

Fever (>100.4)

Chills

Headache

Muscle and/or joint pains

Nausea and/or vomiting

Sore throat

New loss of taste and/or smell

Diarrhea
