A company called the ISO (Insurance Services Office) creates ratings for fire departments and their surrounding communities. The ratings calculate how well-equipped fire departments are to put out fires in that community. The ISO provides this score, often called the “ISO fire score,” to homeowner’s insurance companies. ISO rating factors score a department on a scale of 1-10.

The Randolph Volunteer Fire Department ranks currently at a 2/4. This is a momentous achievement! The Randolph Volunteer Fire Department ranks in the top 5% in the nation and only three fire departments rank higher than Randolph in the State of Ohio! We are extremely proud of this rating. According to the ISO rating schedule, one fulltime firefighter response equals four volunteers.
